Connected Local Organisations

Connected Local Organisations

As well as the churches in Ashford and the surrounding area, there is a variety of other Christian organisations which exist to build up the Body of Christ and bring blessing to the town. Here are some of the ministries that we support and encourage.

Ashford Christian Women

Ashford Christian Women is a gathering of women living in and around Ashford and beyond. Through the regular Breakfast Events held four times a year, they aim to encourage and build connections between local christian women, inspiring one another to celebrate faith in belonging to Jesus and to the Church Together in Ashford, the local family of God.

Ashford Outlet Chaplaincy

Ashford Outlet Chaplaincy is a new initiative to support the wellbeing of those who work at the McArthur Glen shopping centre, through a team of trained volunteers from local churches.  These chaplains visit the stores regularly to listen and talk in a confidential way about work or personal matters.  Encouragement, oversight and supervision is provided by Kent Workplace Mission, and it has the full support of the Outlet Management.

Ashford Street Pastors

Ashford Street Pastors are part of the national Street Pastors. They are passionate about loving and caring for our town; and the people in it, in really practical ways. They are made up of volunteers from all walks of life; from churches all across the town, working together for Ashford. They are made up of Christians from different churches who keep the community safe on Friday nights in Ashford, stopping and chatting to anyone they meet, caring; listening and keeping a peaceful presence on the night-time streets in our local community.

Ashford Together

Ashford Together formed as the Charity, Community and Social Action branch of Churches Together in Ashford. They exist to see our community transformed, connected and revitalised. They believe that by creating positive spaces for co-working; co-learning; co-living and co-producing, joy; love; beauty; friendship and inspiration can flourish, making life better- community wide.

Ashford Town Centre Chaplaincy

Ashford Town Centre Chaplaincy is a new initiative to support the wellbeing of those who work in the town centre, through a team of trained volunteers from local churches.  Its focus is on the smaller, independent traders who are part of the ‘Love Ashford’ network, but will also respond to needs arising in the other shops and workplaces.  Encouragement, oversight and supervision is provided by Kent Workplace Mission, and it has the full support of Ashford Borough Council.

The Beehive

The Beehive is a café and women’s second-hand clothing boutique in the heart of the town-centre, but it is much more than that. They work with local services to give away clothing and support for free to women who need it. Their aim is to create space for people to thrive, and they are passionate about being a positive impact on the high-street. (The Beehive is a Pneuma Church Project.)
